What is B Roll? We can save you Media Room Nights!

We believe that any organisation that deems itself credible enough for TV should have a library of their own high quality video footage to supply to broadcasters either for Video News Release (VNR) or for promotional purposes.  This footage is known as B-Roll.  We provide you with all the B-Roll you may need to promote your various attributes (as broadcasters ourselves we are well accustomed with the type and style of footage often needed).

Because of the immediacy of television film crews often arrive with very little notice and on some occasions will turn up unannounced! In both cases the filming will commence in an unprepared environment. Taking the travel and hotel industry as an example - on the day of filming the weather may be bad, in the hotel the bed linen may have creases, flowers may not be fresh, staff not perfectly groomed and the pool facilities may be temporarily out of use etc. 

Many small crews simply don’t have the time or the programme budget to carefully light public areas and rooms. Also it’s not wise to allow just any TV crew to film a restaurant with guests that have paid a premium for privacy or in the finance world risk a camera team taking shots of confidential material on the screens in shared dealing room.

Our task with B-Roll is to preserve, promote and present your image as if it were our own. Your image is being exposed to the world and we will ensure that it’s consistently right.

All of our B-Roll footage is supplied on a broadcast master tape with an accompanying DVD along with a time-code reference display throughout. A ‘shot list’ with thumbnail pictures is also supplied for ease of reference. Once gathered this footage is yours to use with full rights, perhaps even within a future video project with another film provider.

This of course means that you can cut down on room nights for visiting crews as they will only really need to record their presenter links!
